Always an entertainer first, Jay Edward started his music career at age 15 in the Fox River Valley growing up in Oshkosh. At age 20 he moved to So. Calif. and continued his pursuit of a music career. Under the teaching and influence of Charlie Musselwhite, William Clarke and others, Jay eventually finds his style and tone to become one of the regions best. Moving between Southern and Northern California, Jay was exposed to and played with a large group of players before spending the next 22 years with recording artist the the nightcrawlers (TM) .
In 2019 The Jay Edward Band won a WAMI for Best Blues Artist. They were nominated for a number of WAMI awards in 2018 as well.
After 40 years of playing, recording and working in L.A., Jay moved home to The Fox Valley to form The Jay Edward Band. The band provides a West Coast jump style of blues and soul along with tunes that are upbeat, toe tapping and all danceable material of fun and great musicianship!!
Patrick Stillman, Guitars; Pat has been playing guitar for 38 years and teaching for 23 years. Pat serves as the band's music and recording director. His incredible guitar work grabs crowds of all ages and genre backgrounds.
As a professional musician he has a vast and varied resume, from playing with Frank Zappa tribute band “The Furious Bongos,” curated by original Zappa bass player Arthur Barrow, and toured the country with award winning Unity The Band. Pat has been the core of of The Jay Edward Band, incorporating his compositions along the way. His jazz background has given him the feel and tone needed for the material the band plays.
Erik Holmes, Percussion/drums;
Erik Holmes is an accomplished drum set artist and percussion educator based in West Bend, WI, serving students across the Greater Milwaukee area.
With almost 20 years of teaching experience, Erik provides engaging, well-rounded drum lessons for students of all ages and skill levels. His approach goes beyond the basics—incorporating a wide variety of musical styles as well as music theory, and history. In addition to his teaching, Erik is an active performer, arranger, and songwriter. His music has been featured on national television shows like Late Night with Seth Meyers, WWE, The Meredith Vieira Show, and Brockmire, as well as in film and international media. Erik is the heart of the band's tempo's and rhythms. From his incredible live show energy to his dynamic style, Erik is the heartbeat of the songs played!
Aaron Pantol, Bass/Vocals; Aaron is a pure bassist locking in smooth grooves with all the bands he's played with over the years! Aaron recently joined The Jay Edward Band. His years of experience and performances spans the entire Midwest region. As part of The Jay Edward Band, Aaron brings a youthful feel to the material in every way. An accomplished musician in many genres, Aaron is a great addition to this dynamic band.
Band Guest Member, Jay Stulo, Guitar/Vocals; Jay has been playing, fronting, and leading blues bands since the late 1980’s. He has toured the nation several times and released 5 CD’s. Jay first picked up guitar at the age of 14, learning some basic chords from his father, a early rock-a-billy guitarist. He joined his first working bar band Gypsy Rose at the age of 17.
Jay hit the road early with blues legend Luther Allison, then later with James Solberg. Jay co-founded The Mighty Aces in 1996 and toured full-time for a decade leading the The Jay Stulo Band. After taking some time away from music in 2006, Jay picked up his guitar returned to the stage in 2016. It did not take long to get back on top of his game, first as part of the West Coast stylings of The Jay Edward Band and now leading an all new Jay Stulo Band.
Influenced by multiple genres, Jay is not a traditional blues artist by any means, and this is not your grandfather’s blues - versatile, high energy guitar pyrotechnics, rock-tinged hooks, and incredible slide guitar work make him a guitarist not to miss!!
Jay will join the band as guest artist based on his availability and venue size.
